Working out of our Chicago office in Operations Department, we are looking for our next Operations Manager.


OPERATIONS MANAGER

What the Job Entails:

People Management

  • Oversee Operations team as a whole
  • Ensure that the team is working efficiently by monitoring performance
  • Resolve issues brought forward from sales teams in a timely manner
  • Onboard new employees, clients, and create SOP's
  • Handling and/or delegating all team tasks to ensure workflow runs smoothly
  • Maintain team staff by coaching, monitoring, disciplining as needed
  • Keep Sr. leadership informed by summarizing information and identifying trends
  • Primary escalation for anything operationally related at the team and accounts
  • Guide team to comply with company guidelines
  • Work with all internal departments to manage expectations and streamline processes (Claims, invoicing, Carrier compliance, carrier Sales, LTL, TT Consolidated, etc.)
  • Hold quarterly reviews with operations reps & leads & provide constructive feedback
  • Hold monthly informal touchpoints with reps & leads
Account Management

  • Maintain strong customer and vendor relationships
  • Oversee day to day transportation operations within the given team
  • Maintain effective and professional communication both internally and externally within a timely manner
  • Assist with cost negotiation on shipments in regards to market freight rates
  • Collaborate with both carrier and sales teams to drive continuous improvement
  • Assist in customer communication including but not limited to: daily escalation, pricing, issue resolution, business updates/reviews
  • Monitor load acceptance & KPI measurements
  • Track RFP awards and ensure routing guides are up to date
  • Monitor GP, volume, and service as they coincide with team goals & work to provide solutions if falling short

What We Are Looking For:

- >4 year experience in the logistics and supply chain industry, focusing in customer service/operations & previous management experience required

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Display solid organizational skills
  • Handson, strong problemsolving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Outgoing personality, high energy, flexible
  • Great attitude and desire to work hard
  • Team player mentality
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills and strategic thinking
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast pace at a high volume
  • People Management experience
  • Have been working at Traffic Tech for at least 3 years;
  • Previous Logistics/Transportation experience is needed
  • Must have Knowledge of Crossborder US/Mexico/Canada Transportation, OTR truckload, including dry van, flatbed, reefer, etc.
  • Clear understanding of navigating TT Internal Department and Services
  • High School Diploma
  • Customer service experience
  • Problem solving skills, detailoriented, high level of multitasking skills are a must
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Outgoing personality; high energy; flexible
  • Great attitude and desire to work hard

This is a full-time permanent position from Monday to Friday.
