Job Purpose:
Being the Facilities Operations Coordinator involves handling the daily receipt, documentation, and delivery of packages received at both the distribution warehouse and zoo administrative buildings.
You will be responsible for maintaining the warehouse and organizing the equipment stored within it. Additionally, you will provide on-site support for zoo signature and public events, including assembly, maintenance, placement, and storage of equipment.
Collaborating closely with the Director of Events, you will assist with the load-in & load-out of all Zoo temporary exhibitions and provide operations support for special events.
In this role, you will also support the Facilities work order system (Asset Essentials) and assist other onsite daily operations teams such as Animal Collections, Education, Events, Admissions, Rides & Attractions, and Safety/Security to ensure guest safety and satisfaction.
As the coordinator, you will handle various tasks related to general zoo operations and other duties as assigned.JOB FACTORS:
Manage, track, and log all incoming non-retail packages received by the zoo in its distribution warehouse or administrative buildings.
Ensure timely delivery of packages from UPS, FEDEX, Amazon, Postal, and freight companies to all zoo departments, including those needing special handling.
Handle the storage and delivery of products supporting zoo events, internal initiatives, sponsorships, and programs.Support the Public Events team in setting up and breaking down signature events.
Conduct regular checks on items impacting zoo operations.
Conduct bi-annual audits of zoo event inventory.
Manage zoo-wide inventory of administrative supplies and support items.
Maintain an orderly distribution warehouse and assigned buildings.
Assist with the Facilities work order software package as required.
Tasks include entering/closing work orders, building equipment & location databases, data entry, report generation, and coordinating work order needs for zoo departments.
Support Facilities and Safety/Security management teams to ensure adherence to Zoo Atlanta safety policies and procedures.
Identify potential on-site safety issues.Engage actively in zoo and professional organizations.
Support Zoo Atlanta's Vision, Mission, and Values statement.
Complete any other projects assigned by Zoo Atlanta's Facility management team.
Experience and SkillsQUALIFICATIONSKnowledge and Skills:
Minimum of two years in warehouse roles.
Preferably some experience in event support.
Certified forklift operator or ability to obtain certification.
Demonstrated experience in team environments with a customer service focus.
Service-oriented individual with the ability to work across different organizational levels.
Dependable with efficient and effective performance.
Adaptability to changes and strong capability in fast-paced environments.
Weekends/holidays availability required.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:

Georgia driver's license and good driving record needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Capable of lifting 75 lbs
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Able to work in adverse weather conditions.
(75% of time outside with exposure to cold, hot, and variable weather).
