The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Electrician Leader (WL to work at the 316th Wing at Joint Base Andrews, MD

The primary purpose of this position is: To lead three or more workers to accomplish trades and/or labor work on a substantially full time and continuing basis.

Leader is responsible to both perform the work assigned by a supervisor and ensures that subordinates completed assigned work consistent with trades and labor standards.

This mission-critical position offers the flexibility to hire like the private sector with a direct stream-lined application and expedited hiring process due to a severe shortage of candidates or critical hiring needs. This hiring approach is called Direct Hiring Authority (DHA) which allows the Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) to hire applicants from the general public with no prior federal civilian or Veteran status.

Hourly Rate is $ $43.14 Based on Experience.

- Leads a team of trades and/or labor workers in performing the full range of duties required to repair, install, troubleshoot, and maintain various electrical systems, controls, and equipment. On a regular and recurring basis, utilizes trades and/or labor knowledge and skill to lead a team of three or more workers in performance of
various related work. Maintains current knowledge and answers questions from other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions and directives.
-Performs electrical work.

Performs nonsupervisory electrical work that is usually of the same kind and level as members of the work crew led. Performs the entire spectrum of electrical tasks appropriate for the occupations and grade of the team for which they are assigned working leader. Sets the pace and demonstrates proper work methods and techniques doing performance of work done by crew being led.
-Installs, repairs or replaces, modifies, loads, and tests new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, fixtures, panels, switches, breakers, and controls located in and near installation buildings and structures.

Works on secondary distribution lines and circuits used to supply distribution panels, switchgears, power and control circuits,
electrical intrusion alarm and fire alarm systems; emergency warning systems; cathodic protection systems; high intensity lighting systems; and related equipment.
-Troubleshoots problem areas and inspects for defective equipment and faulty wiring. Works from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and maintenance and repair manuals to determine the necessary and proper repairs and/or replacements. Trains and/or guides lower grade or lesser-experienced employees as required.
-Uses and maintains tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, soldering
irons, cable pullers, manual and hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines.

In addition, uses a wide variety of
test equipment including test lamps, multimeters, circuit analyzers, circuit breaker testers, voltage recording meters,
meggers, wattmeters, ohmeters, and ammeters.

RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):
-Working knowledge of a wide range of principles, processes, and techniques of trade(s) and/or craft(s)
-Knowledge of safety regulations, practices, and procedures.
-Knowledge of the use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and equipment common to trades and labor work performed by the group being led.
-Skill in performing the trade and /or labor work of the group being led.
-Ability to lead a team of three or more labor or trade employees.
-Ability to plan and organize work assignments to include determining resources required to accomplish mission.
