Description
The Department of Health Services (DHS) seeks a dynamic and accomplished professional to join their team as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer (Deputy CFO).
The Deputy Chief Financial Officer will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer, and will operate independently, and play a crucial role in maintaining the fiscal integrity of DHS.
One of the primary responsibilities is the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of a dedicated team encompassing professional, technical, and office support staff.
This team will support administrative functions and oversee three essential subsections within the Finance Unit:Revenue Management, Financial Reporting, and Financial Information Systems and Technology. Uphold fiduciary responsibility for DHS finances
Approve budget transactions in the general ledger (Enterprise Financial System - EFS)
Provide Accounts-Receivable (A/R) projections to the Department Accounting Manager
Participate in monthly performance reviews of Actuals versus Budget with DHS divisions
Oversee the Revenue Management Unit that is responsible for Medi-Cal, Medicare, and private insurance billing
The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, will be a strong communicator, team player, self-aware, flexible, and adaptable to change.
Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Office skills, with a critical focus on advanced knowledge of Excel spreadsheetsDemonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting budget recommendations to executive management
Goal-driven with the ability to track multiple projects in different stages
Possess strong presentation skills for engagements with the Board of Supervisors and Senior Leadership
The ability to interpret State and Federal regulations specific to Behavioral Health billing and claims processes
