    Allensworth, a busy and growing commercial construction law firm, seeks a full-time Lead Construction Litigation Attorney in its downtown Austin office.

    Summary of Responsibilities

    The lead attorney is responsible for the management of a large construction and design dispute docket. The docket may involve work on a variety of public or private construction disputes on behalf of owners, design professionals, or contractors. These disputes will often involve construction defects or delays, but they may also involve project closeout or other advice prior to the filing of a lawsuit or arbitration demand.

    Working closely with the partner-in-charge of each case, the lead attorney is accountable for crafting litigation strategy, communicating with clients, preparing litigation budgets, and managing the execution of legal strategy, including delegating assignments to supporting associates and paralegals. Strong academic credentials, research, writing, and communication skills, ability to work well with others in a team environment, and high-motor work ethic are essential.

    • Strong academic credentials and excellent legal research and persuasive/analytical writing skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both internally and client-facing
    • Demonstrates strong leadership and case management skills with a proven ability to manage matters, craft strategy proactively, and implement resources in all phases of disputes
    • Comfortable working both autonomously and in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a variety of constituencies, including clients, partners, associates, legal assistants, and administrative staff
    • Possesses a strong attention to detail and exhibits a polished, professional, and friendly demeanor
    • Exhibits a willingness to serve in first-chair capacity on client interaction, motion practice, hearings, presentations, and coordination of case-level strategy for cases
    • Highly motivated, capable, and eager to become an indispensable part of the team and solve problems—both for clients and for the firm

    Requirements

    • Minimum of four to six years of experience as a litigator
    • Texas licensure preferred

    Compensation/Benefits:

    Competitive salary commensurate with experience, health, dental, 401K, paid vacation/sick leave, parking stipend, downtown Austin office space with Class A amenities, including gym access.
