Our Healthcare Technology company responds to RFP's and is in need of a "technical" Technical Writer to join the team. Below are the required attributes of a succesful person. This position is fully remote.

What's Required:
● Bachelor's degree in Writing, English, Journalism, Communication, Information Design, or related field or any Engineering degree
● Portfolio of work/writing samples relevant to the position
● Demonstrated success in responding to public sector RFPs and grants
● Demonstrated ability to document detailed technical content such as APIs and/or data exchange specifications like mapping documents
● Experience and comfort with industry-standard technical documentation practices and tools, and ability to learn them as needed
● Familiarity and/or experience with industry standards, especially HL7, including Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) and/or Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource (FHIR)-for the right person this may not be required. If you are a fast learner, there could be some leeway on this requirement.
● Familiarity and/or experience with open standards-based authentication frameworks, such as OAuth, SMART, SCIM, SAML, OpenID-same with what's mentioned above about having some leeway for the right person.
● You're a good fit for this role if you are:

Bonus Points:
● Advanced degrees or certifications in technical communications
● Familiarity with Loopio
● Familiarity and/or experience with the concept of a Master Patient Index
● Familiarity and/or experience working with industry terminology and classification systems, such as SNOMED, CPT/HCPCS, RxNORM, CVX, ICD-10, LOINC, etc.

A great personality

Resume must be edited meaning, the Manager doesn't want to see resumes that are lengthy. He wants a resume to be edited, editing down irrelevant information that's 20 years old as an example. He mentioned the resume should show relevant information that will resonate with an employer today. This was his opinion as well. You also must provide examples of the persons work, non-negotiable. It's also recommended to have a professional summary which you'd most likely see if someone is a Technical Writer versus someone who was some sort of technical person that simply gets right into job title, dates and bullet points of what they've done.

The Manager also mentioned specifically needing someone who can manage the RFP response process including getting responses up to date in there RFP software, the boiler plate responses updated and standardized. Controlling the process with stakeholders around messaging a well.

The Manager also mentioned that the Tech Writer doesn't have to be highly technical, they need to be able to talk to a Developer, gather information and distill that down to something people can relate to. Being a quick study, understand technical concepts and being willing to have a back and forth with a developer to say, does this still capture what we are trying to accomplish here.
