    Exciting Opportunity for an Estimator


    The Dahill Group is excited to collaborate with our client, an esteemed construction company, to find a top-notch Estimator.

    The Estimator will have a crucial role, focusing on accurate and detailed takeoffs for projects.

    This position requires precision, a deep understanding of Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) codes, and expertise in data analysis to improve cost-efficiency and bid competitiveness.


    Our client, a well-established family-owned business with over 45 years of presence in the San Francisco Bay Area, is renowned for its highly productive and motivated teams.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Accurate Takeoffs and CSI
    Code Knowledge:


    • Carry out precise takeoffs and quantify materials, labor, and time requirements. Ensure estimates are categorized based on CSI codes for clarity and compliance enhancement.

    Vendor Pricing Compilation and Negotiation:


    • Collect and examine vendor pricing, negotiate for favorable terms without compromising quality. Regularly update and manage pricing databases to reflect current market conditions.

    Data Management and Interpretation:


    • Maintain accurate records of past pricing and bid results. Utilize this data for future estimates and to enhance bidding approaches.
    • Monitor market trends affecting material and labor costs, incorporating this insight into project projections.

    Bid Preparation and Cost Breakdown:


    • Develop detailed bid proposals, breakdown costs per unit as needed, ensuring all financial information is accurate and verifiable.
    • Collaborate closely with project teams to compile bid documents, making sure submissions are timely and structured according to industry norms

    Job Requirements:


    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Extensive experience as an estimator in the construction sector, focusing on detailed cost analysis and bid creation.
    • Thorough knowledge of CSI coding and experience with cost unitization for projects.
    • Proficiency in estimation software and advanced data analysis tools.
    • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent negotiation capabilities.
    • A STRONG ethical base and a dedication to integrity in all business interactions.

    Salary and Benefits:


    Compensation Range:
    $110K-$130K


    Location:
    Richmond, CA initially to collaborate with PM's at our client's yard/warehouse/office. Possible relocation to our client's Petaluma site in the future. Remote work is not an option at present.
