Our mission-driven team is seeking a bold and dynamic Acoustics Engineer and Simulation and Modeling who is fueled by problem-solving, continuously curious, and driven to understand our world, science/technology, and life itself, for the benefit of all on Earth and beyond.

    This role is onsite and will be in Houston, TX.

    **DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

    + Develop acoustics analysis models and perform simulations to predict and optimize acoustics solutions/designs for component, subsystems, and module/stations.

    + Collaborates with different cross functional teams such as mechanical, thermal, fluid dynamics, structures, material, and acoustics lab to develop acoustical solutions, innovative technologies, and provide the supports for problem solving of complex acoustic scenarios during development of subsystems/systems from prototype to hardware.

    + Use good engineering judgment (based on theoretical and practical considerations and best engineering practices) to apply and adapt model/simulation approaches as needed.

    + Present modeling analysis and simulation results and recommendations to teams of acoustics, systems/assemblies, and programs,

    + Translate the models of acoustics mitigation designs into prototypes. Work with acoustics lab to conduct correlation analysis of test results and modeling.

    + Investigate and evaluate practical applicability of innovative modeling and simulation methods to benchmark solutions and precision predictions of acoustics emissions.

    + Conduct mentoring and training activities in the advancement of technical, project, and analysis skills. Maintaining a high level of technical knowledge in acoustics and related fields.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    **Education & Experience** _(Experience should highlight both required and preferred skills.     + PhD or masters degree in engineering, applied physics, or related fields.

    + 7+ years industry experience in acoustics modeling and simulations or a combined equivalent of education and experience

    + Experience in conducting high-fidelity acoustic modeling and simulations with commercial tools (e.g., VA-One, Wave6, ANSYS Acoustics, COMSOL, or others).

    + Experience in performing room acoustics, transmission loss/absorption analysis of acoustics solutions and materials, vibro-acoustics, and fluid inducted vibration and acoustics simulations.

    + Experience in performing CAD tools such as SOLIDWORKS, or others.

    + Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to collaborate with internal and external customers on a range of projects that require a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.

    + Ability to communicate technical content well, including preparing presentations, reports, and proposal/recommendations that clearly communicate complex ideas, designs, and results to teams and programs.

    + Ability to prioritize multi-tasks on multiple projects.

    + Ability to thrive in a fast environment and produce timely results.

    + Ability to demonstrate strong attention to detail.

    **Essential Functions**

    Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

    **Requirements**

    + Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

    + Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

    + Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

    **Physical Requirements (For Technicians or others, this may require edits)**

    + Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
