- The candidate will be responsible for assisting with the mechanical design aspects of new ATE systems and assorted other VLS test equipment.
- The candidate will use SolidWorks and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques to design, analyze, and simulate mechanical components used in VLS ATE systems.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing engineering support for: acceptance; installation and checkout; troubleshooting and repair of prototype and production test systems.
- The candidate will be responsible for providing engineering support to conduct test system indoctrination, maintenance, and technician and operator training.
- The candidate will provide appropriate mechanical drawings/diagrams and write specifications to clarify design details of prototype/experimental ATE units.
- The candidate will supervise technicians during the fabrication and assembly of prototype and production mechanical components.
- The candidate will be responsible for working with the technicians to identify solutions to technical design problems that arise during design, fabrication, and checkout of ATE systems.
- The candidate will be responsible for supervising technicians and technical writers during the creation of the technical data package (manuals, procedures, drawings, etc.) of the candidate's new mechanical designs.
- The candidate will be responsible to ensure that all design documentation is complete and error free.
- The candidate will inspect existing designs for quality, common design practices, optimization, improvement, and potential cost reductions
- The candidate will redline technical data packages (manuals, procedures, drawings, etc.) to reflect changes and errors in design or implementation
- 2-5 years hands-on experience in mechanical hardware design and analysis.
- Solid knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and techniques.
- In depth knowledge SolidWorks.
- In depth understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Excellent mechanical debugging skills are required.
- Knowledge of the mechanical aspects of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design is a plus.
- Competency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) is required
- BSME or equivalent engineering degree required.
- Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering will be considered
- Ability to lift at least 25lbs.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Valid driver's license for possible CONUS travel.
