Description
Position summary:ADAC's Production Manager is responsible for daily operations within their assigned manufacturing area(s), focused within ADAC's Muskegon Assembly team. This position will be empowered to: to manage staffing levels, production output, technical troubleshooting, production scheduling, downtime, on-time delivery and scrap for assigned area(s). The expectation is that these aforementioned areas, not only achieve budgeted metrics, but a system of continuous improvement will also be expected. Additionally, the Production Manager will be expected to create a structure for feedback and improvement as it relates to hourly workforce concerns.

Essential Responsibilities:
1. Daily production management - The Production Manager will be expected to build to the schedule provided and hit delivery dates to both internal and external customers.
2. Quality - The Production Manager will be responsible for defect escape and scrap generated in their area(s). The Production Manager will maintain active scrap improvement plans aimed at continuous improvement.
3. Problem Solving - The Production Manager shall have demonstrated/proven problem-solving abilities. Ideally, official training in problem solving is desired. This would include such methodologies as Black Belt or Red X, as an example.
4. The Production Manager must have knowledge and experience in dealing directly with ADAC's OEM customers. This may require travel to customer locations, to speak to corrective actions for issues that arise.
5. Coaching & Mentoring - Coach and mentor production leadership in the skill and art of production management. Ultimately, the goal of this activity will be to create skill sets, in subordinates, that allow seamless succession of all critical production personnel.
6. Hourly Workforce Engagement - The Production Manager will have an ongoing and documented plan which seeks to engage the hourly workforce and seeks to resolve issues identified by them. This will be in concert with ADAC's HR team.
7. Change Management - Support initiatives by developing awareness, understanding, ownership and accountability for change.
8. Labor Efficiency - The Production Manager will be assessed on their ability to manage labor. The Production Manager will be responsible for attaining labor performance and productivity targets. Additionally, the expectation is a documented continuous improvement approach will be taken to pursue continuous improvement, as it relates to labor management.
9. Manufacturing Expense Management - The Production Manager will be expected to manage expenses within their jurisdiction and provide feedback on overages and corrective actions, if necessary.
10. Manufacturing Metric Reporting - The Production Manager will manage/author necessary manufacturing update reports, which will summarize their area(s), for review by upper management. These reports will not only report status but, offer actions aimed at improvement.
11. People Metrics - Assist in establishing and achieving people metrics that support and drive business results.
12. New Product Launch - The Production Manager will interface with Launch Team members to execute new product launch. Flawless launch will mean that products are launched on time, at rate, and at budgeted quality and scrap levels.
13. People and Planet - The Production Manager will be expected to work with Environmental Health and Safety to ensure that their areas are compliance with applicable health, safety, and regulatory concerns.
14. Special Projects - The Production Manager must have a proven track record of accomplishing special projects, within their area. This will include creating and managing timelines and budgets, so as, the project is finished on time and budget.
