    Simple Technology Solutions is looking for a Lead Developer to add to our team.

    Quick Position Overview:

    • US Citizenship is required
    • Bachelor's Degree is required
    • Minimum of 8 years' position related experience is required

    The Role:

    As the Lead Developer, you will have overall responsibility for overseeing the delivery of application code, ensuring it complies with business requirements, DHS Enterprise Architecture standards, security controls, and clean code standards and strategy. You will serve as a mentor to junior and senior developers, assisting in removing blockers and resolving issues with application code. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet organizational needs and standards.


    The Lead Developer at STS will:

    • Oversee the delivery of application code, ensuring compliance with business requirements, DHS Enterprise Architecture standards, security controls, and clean code standards and strategy.
    • Mentor junior and senior developers, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and ensure adherence to software quality standards.
    • Assist in removing blockers and resolving issues with application code to ensure smooth development processes.
    • Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements for the development team.
    • Plan and document technical specifications for features or system design, ensuring clarity and alignment with business goals.
    • Design, build, and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements.
    • Direct the development team in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of applications.
    • Write testable, scalable, and efficient code, and lead code reviews to maintain high code quality.
    • Stay current with software development methodologies, tools, and industry best practices to continuously improve the development process.

    Education and Experience:

    Required

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with eight (8) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment OR No Bachelor's Degree with ten (10) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment.
    • Proven success as a technical team leader with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
    • Experience working closely with senior stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
    • Experience planning and documenting technical specifications for features or system design.
    • Extensive experience designing and developing solutions with Java Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE) in an Agile Software Development environment.
    • Experience designing and developing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) with REST, SOAP, and JSON.
    • Extensive experience with Oracle Database 12c (or greater) and JBoss Developer (RHCJD) or Oracle Certified Professional, Java Enterprise Edition (EE).
    • Experience implementing the MVC Development Methodology (Model/View/Controller).
    • Proficiency in software development languages and frameworks such as MuleSoft, Java, Angular, and microservices.
    • Experience with portable environment creation or containerization technologies such as Docker, Apache Mesos, or Vagrant.
    • Experience designing, building, and configuring applications to meet business process and application requirements.
    • Experience directing the development team in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of applications.
    • Experience writing testable, scalable, and efficient code and leading code reviews.
    • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members and ensure adherence to software quality standards.
