- Analyze network requirements and contribute to network architecture design, integration, and setup
- Install and manage local area network hardware and software, such as servers, peripherals, terminals, and wiring
- Evaluate hardware and software needs and capabilities, and provide recommendations
- Coordinate hardware and software installation by other parties
- Support and train users in local area network administration and usage
- Monitor and maintain network stability
- Inform users about network schedule, backups, and downtime
- Coordinate third-party maintenance for network hardware, software, and telecom services
- Create and update documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts
- Collaborate with other departments in the company
- Assist IS personnel with projects and issue resolution
- Ensure network availability for the company's overall success in the market
- Understanding of data communications principles and interfaces
- Knowledge of telecommunications principles and practices
- Proficiency in using protocol analyzers and Network Monitoring tools for troubleshooting and data interpretation
- Capability to assess and recommend network solutions based on needs
- Evaluate and communicate potential network impact from application installations or system changes
- Provide analysis, planning, and design for Network projects
- Manage all project phases from planning to implementation
- Offer technical support in project planning for IS colleagues
- Effectively handle multiple tasks with minimal guidelines
- Ability to interpret various documents and regulations
- Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and manuals
- Skilled in presenting information to diverse audiences

$74,796 - $100,975 - $127,152
People in this role may fall under NERC CIP cyber security standards. If so, before joining, being promoted, or moving to this role, the candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment, which includes identity verification and a criminal background check. They must also attend cyber security training before accessing secure cyber areas. Yearly training is mandatory.
SUMMARY:
With general supervision, this role involves installing, configuring, and resolving issues in local area computer networks and related components.
COMPETENCIES:
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; and five to seven years of relevant experience; or similar combination of education and experience.
