    The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for leading the field sales and Bids and Tender function(s). This role is responsible for ensuring we have a highly talented and motivated team , responsible for both acquiring new B2B customers and growing accounts with focus on larger business customers within the specialist sectors defined.

    This role will drive the teams performance ensuring leads are followed up and converted in the appropriate channel, ensuring that the different locations are working collaboratively, and that we are maximising both sales and margin as a result.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Developing and growing our new specialist sales team – focused on larger accounts requiring more strategic account management. This function will include specialist roles for Bids & tenders, field sales and our growing partnership business
    • Leading the B2B Field Sales team – focusing on account acquisition and repeat spend from accounts that have potential spend level of +£25K p/a in the vertical segments that are identified as part of the B2B strategy
    • Leading the Bid and Tenders team to ensure we identify relevant tender opportunities and comply with the required compliance
    • Responsibilities include setting sales goals, developing strategies to meet targets, training and mentoring the sales teams, analzing sales data , managing budgets , and building relationships with key account customers
    • Delivery of sales and margin KPIs and targets, with a specific focus on conversion, account repeat spend and new account acquisition of larger accounts
    • Performance management of the field sales team and Bid and Tender team end to end operation and processes to meet the required KPIs. Coaching and developing the teams in lead acquisition, customer meetings and opportunities
    • Developing a strategy and supporting both the Fields sales team and B & T team in a growth strategy, ensuring that sales team's objectives are not conflicting, and that we are set up to maximise account acquisition and repeat spend
    • Ensure that the right supporting factors of upskilling, career pathways and reward are set up for all sales colleagues, driving motivation to perform and develop
    • Maintain strong morale and low attrition across the team
    • Manage costs efficiently, role modelling best practice in finding new ways of working that reduce non value added task, and minimise unnecessary cost. availability across the store estate

    Key Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

    • Ideally educated to degree standard
    • Strong understanding of sales tactics ad strategies
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills
    • Experience of managing frontline Sales teams
    • Experience of working in a matrix organization, with heavy dependency on other teams to help maximize success in your area of responsibility
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
