    THE POSITION

    The Educational Technology Integrator (ETI) plays a key role in facilitating the use of educational technology and innovative design-strategies within the classroom and school as a whole. They act as a liaison and thought-partner among the teaching colleagues, staff and IT partners, and among the students, promoting a culture of equity, access, voice, and joy in all that they do. ETIs will also serve as a first-line response to educational technology needs and support in order to ensure the best possible learning experience for students within a holistic and child-centered educational environment, coordinating and recommending, as needed, hardware and software, connectivity, and classroom and child-based needs for effective teaching and learning. The ETI in this role will primarily serve students, colleagues, and families in the Upper School while in partnership with other ETIs to serve all-school needs.

    Primary Responsibilities Include:

    This position reports to the Director of Technology and Upper School Learning Community Head.

  • Contributes to the planning, development, communication, implementation, and evaluation of technology-infused strategic plans with school IT partners.
  • Ensures that integration goes beyond physical technology, including STEAM-based connections, Design-Thinking, Maker Spaces, etc.
  • Identifies trends in software, hardware, curriculum, teaching strategies, and other areas.
  • Develops best practices for instructional technology in the learning community in which they primarily work.
  • Assists teachers in developing curriculum and content utilizing technology.
  • Develops methods of incorporating interactive technology to improve learning experiences.
  • Conducts technology training for instructional colleagues within their respective learning community, and as appropriate, beyond it.
  • Reviews and recommends technology based professional development opportunities for colleagues and students.
  • As appropriate and needed, leads workshops for students and families.
  • Performs ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the instructional technology.
  • Teaches and supports integrated classroom technology for students.
  • Acts as the bridge between students and teachers, creating help desks as additional supports for students.
  • Works in collaboration with Learning Community leadership teams, as needed, to develop and facilitate student programming (e.g., tech internship programs for current students and recent graduates, student robotics clubs at all levels, design-thinking workshops, etc.)
  • Creates and maintains a technology self-help web page, including FAQs, detailed product & technical information for educational technology tools and resources that can be easily accessed by colleagues, students and parents in collaboration with IT personnel.
  • Teaches classes, in their instructional area within and possibly across learning communitys, in ways that reflect and build cultural competence, create opportunities for integrated and interdisciplinary teaching and learning, and engage students in meaningful ways.
  • In partnership with other Technology Integrators, develop standards and scope and sequence of curricula, and engage with students, colleagues, and families around real-world applications of technology discourse and developments in students' world.
  • In partnership with the IT team, helps to inform volume needs of print & copy supplies.
  • In conjunction with the IT team, maintains appropriate inventory of classroom assets (projectors, cables, laptops, printers, power adapters) and makes recommendations for ideal educational technology to support student learning experiences.
  • Models and facilitates safe, healthy, legal, and ethical uses of digital information and technologies, sharing out tips and updates to the community regularly.
  • Joyfully learns how to use new software quickly and then teach others.

  • Qualifications and Characteristics Sought:

  • Bachelor of Arts in a related area (required)
  • 3-5 years relevant experience (preferred)
  • Has experience in an Upper School setting
  • Is invested in continued professional growth
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills (oral and written)
  • Approaches work with flexibility, patience, grace, connection, and a willingness to learn
  • Fluency with a wide range of hardware and software including, but not limited to, computers/tablets (Windows/Mac/ Android/Chrome), audio visual equipment (projectors, amplifiers, etc.), Interactive Whiteboards, mobile devices, the Office 365 Ecosystem, and Learning Management Systems (i.e. Google Classrooms, Canvas, etc).
  • Critical thinking and technical troubleshooting skills required. Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills, and the ability to respond quickly and succinctly to all communications.

  • Physical Requirements of the Job:

  • Must be able to work in an office environment including prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
  • Must be able to stand, bend over, twist and reach to access file cabinets, bookshelves and navigate office and workstation spaces.
  • Must be able to ambulate through a classroom setting, including walking up stairs.
  • Must be able to lift and carry small children up to 40lbs in the case of emergency.

    Salary Range: $88,764 - $101,435

    This salary range represents the expected annual salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your education level, experience, and other job-related factors.
