    Description

    The Dallas office of Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, LLP seeks an associate attorney with 2 to 7 years' experience in civil litigation to join the Insurance Coverage and Litigation section of the firm. Candidates should have a working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure, and excellent advocacy and writing skills. Litigation experience, including taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing motions, and attending mediations is preferred and insurance industry experience, whether with a law firm or in-house, is strongly preferred. Valid Texas BAR license required.

    The Insurance Coverage and Litigation section at Thompson Coe focuses on defending insurance companies in bad faith, breach of contract, indemnity, property, and coverage lawsuits and declaratory actions. The attorneys in this position will handle the day-to-day aspects of insurance coverage and litigation cases including client meetings, reporting and investigation, research and motion practice, and taking and attending depositions, hearings, mediations and arbitrations and/or trials. Depending on the size and exposure of the case, the candidate will independently handle the case or work closely with a partner.
