    Special Education Teacher

    Multi-Level II Class (Moderate Intellectual Disabilities/Autism Spectrum Disorders)

    Software/Systems Used:

    • New IEP Program (training provided)
    • EdPlanSC (PCG)

    Requirements:

    • Active South Carolina (SC) Licensure/Certification in Special Education
    • Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorders and behavior management is preferred

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with moderate intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders
    • Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to meet the unique needs of each student
    • Utilize new IEP program and EdPlanSC (PCG) software to manage student information and track progress (training will be provided)
    • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student education
    • Implement behavior management strategies to support positive student behavior and engagement
    • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional methods as necessary
    • Participate in professional development and team meetings to enhance skills and stay current with best practices in special education
    • Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with school policies and state regulations

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and behavioral needs
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
    • Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning and manage educational records
