    Job Title: Special Education Teacher (SC Licensure/Certification)

    Location: On-site (York, SC)

    Employment Type: Full-time

    Start Date: August 1, 2024

    End Date: May 29, 2025

    Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher with SC licensure/certification to join our team in York, SC. This position encompasses roles in both middle school (Academic Support II) and high school (Resource Inclusion), as well as opportunities for our alternative program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students of diverse learning needs, including those with challenging behaviors. This position offers a low caseload for managing IEPs and other administrative tasks.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in middle school (Academic Support II) and high school (Resource Inclusion) settings.
    2. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students on the caseload.
    3. Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, parents, and support staff to ensure individualized needs are met in inclusive classroom settings.
    4. Monitor student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
    5. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior in compliance with regulations.

    Qualifications:

    • Valid South Carolina teaching license with endorsement in Special Education
    • Previous experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting
    • Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
    • Ability to effectively manage challenging behaviors and create a positive learning environment
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Flexibility and adaptability to work with students across different grade levels and settings
