    Job Description:

    Would you like to teach in a warm and nurturing learning environment where teachers are supported and creativity is encouraged? If so, the Association to Benefit Children (ABC) is looking for a special education teacher to join the staff at Cassidy's Place (419 E 86th Street). Our Early Childhood Center in the Upper East Side is currently interviewing for a full time Special Education Teacher to head an integrated CPSE/HS classroom. Hours are 8am-4pm.

    Responsibilities of the CPSE/HS Special Education teacher include:

    • Lesson planning, conducting assessment, and curriculum implementation
    • Maintaining a safe, nurturing, organized learning environment
    • Collaborating with classroom staff and multi-disciplinary team
    • Maintaining accurate and timely classroom records/documentation

    Qualifications of the CPSE/HS Special Education teacher:

    • Being joyous with children and maintaining high standards, non-negotiable
    • ONE of the following NYS Certifications: Special Education Teacher (permanent), Special Educator: Students with Disabilities (Birth-2), Permanent Special Education Certificate
    • Experience with birth-age 3 populations
    • Must work well with children and families through EI processes
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
    • For eligible borrowers, ABC is a qualifying employer for public service loan forgiveness as a non-profit organization. ABC is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).

    Salary Range of the Special Education Teacher: $61,070-75,517 (dependent on credentials)

    Full-time position. Benefits include health, vision, and dental insurance; PTO; a 403(b)-retirement plan with matching; life insurance; employee discounts; tuition assistance; and parental leave.
