    Description
    EMSL is currently seeking a Part Time
    Summer Laboratory Intern (Food Microbiology) for its Cinnaminson, NJ laboratorylocation. The role assists the laboratory with both administrative and sample preparation tasks.


    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    Performing standard and non-standard lab prep procedures according to internal SOP's for food microbiology samples
    Assist where necessary in the food stability program
    Record data in specific manner
    Assist with clerical and data entry
    Working on special projects as assigned
    Cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of lab equipment
    Should have good lab practices
    Cross train if needed in other departments to assist with business demands


    Requirements:

    Pursuing an Associates or Bachelor's degree in life sciences
    One to two years of previous academic or commercial lab experience a plus
    Experience in testing microbiology environmental samples (water, wastewater, air etc.) a plus
    Must be able to work independently and with a team
    Must be able to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, and prioritize assignments
    Must have good communication, computer, typing, and organizational skills


    Available Shift:Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.


    This is a seasonal position, starting in early June and ending in mid to late August
