About Lauren Lee:

Lauren Lee, an artist, fashion designer, and award-winning children's book writer/illustrator.

She was born in Hong Kong and first discovered her talent in drawing and painting in school. She then enrolled in an acrylic painting studio class at the age of 9 and has not stopped painting since. She later self-taught herself different mediums, from watercolor, oil painting, gouache, to marker. When she was 18, she moved to NYC to pursue a Fashion Design BFA degree and graduated from Parsons School of Design in 2020. Now, she is a full-time fashion designer by day, and a children's book illustrator/writer by night.

Experience

I am an accomplished and versatile fashion professional with a strong foundation in design and creative development. With a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design and over [number of years] years of experience in the industry, I have consistently showcased my passion for innovative design, attention to detail, and collaborative teamwork.

During my time as the Women’s Fleece & Knit Bottom Assistant Designer at American Eagle Outfitters, I demonstrated my ability to manage various aspects of the design process. I excelled in creating sketches, tech packs, and design decks, while also playing a pivotal role in coordinating fit meetings and managing vendor communication. My proficiency in developing CADs for every style and season underscored my commitment to delivering compelling design presentations.

I further honed my skills during my Fashion Merch Design Internship at Universal Music Group - Bravado. Collaborating on notable projects like Taylor Swift's "Lover" album merchandise and Travis Scott's sweater design, I showcased my aptitude for creating eye-catching graphics and effectively working within brand aesthetics.

My tenure as a Women’s Bottoms Design Intern at American Eagle Outfitters reinforced my understanding of trend analysis and research. I contributed to the sketching and development of Summer/Spring 2020 woven bottoms, demonstrating my dedication to understanding the customer's preferences and adapting designs accordingly.

Additionally, my experience as a CAD & Print Design Intern at Brooks Brothers emphasized my ability to create intricate and nautical-themed designs for women's and men's collections. My contributions to print designs and CADs showcased my versatility in both creating original concepts and implementing them for various apparel categories.

I rounded out my industry exposure with a Fashion Design Summer Internship at Eloquii. Collaborating with designers and contributing to the collaboration with Jason Wu, I gained insight into the complexities of cross-functional teamwork. My proficiency in sketching, color palettes, and print editing underscored my dedication to precision and creative execution.

Furthermore, my freelance fashion illustration work for XXXTentacion and Galtiscopio demonstrated my adaptability and ability to tailor designs to specific brand aesthetics and collaborations, showcasing my versatility in a competitive and evolving landscape.

Overall, my comprehensive background in fashion design, coupled with my proficiency in design software and collaboration, positions me as a committed and creative associate designer ready to contribute my talents to innovative teams in the industry.

Education

I am a graduate of Parsons School of Design, Class of 2020, where I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fashion Design. This prestigious institution provided me with a comprehensive and immersive education in the world of fashion, fostering my creativity, honing my design skills, and equipping me with the knowledge needed to excel in the dynamic and competitive fashion industry. Through my coursework and hands-on experiences at Parsons, I gained a deep understanding of design principles, trend analysis, garment construction, and innovative design techniques. My time at Parsons not only solidified my passion for fashion but also prepared me to confidently contribute my unique design perspective to the field.
