Description LIS Application Analyst II - Digital and Technology Partners - Hybrid/Onsite**The Applications Analyst II designs and specifies information systems solutions to address business needs and the methods for installing them. Application Analyst II has overall responsibility for monitoring and maintaining laboratory systems, software and hardware, recommending and implementing systems enhancements and upgrades. Supports lab database in preparing lab-specific ad hoc reports, maintain all files, accumulating workload statistics, providing training related to the LIS and interacting with vendors for the selection and upgrade of software.


This is specifically for laboratory information systems. The position schedule is a remote/onsite combination, must live in tri-state area (NY, NJ or CT). Must be able to come onsite for upgrades, system updates, and other necessary responsibilities and onsite rotation & on call with other LIS Analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Testing with Hospital Information system, external interfaces during system changes as well as version upgrades.
  • Maintaining uptodate documentation and necessary paperwork for all testing activities as well as change requests.
  • Creating and updating documents to ensure knowledge transfer from seniors to juniors and new comers
  • Implementing change management requests in LIS
  • Maintaining Inbound / Outbound HIS Interfaces to ensure uninterrupted communication between several interfaces and Laboratory Information System
  • Instrument Interface technical support. Working with Application vendor, instrument vendors and laboratory to interface new instruments to Laboratory Information System.
  • Creation and maintenance of Support PCs / VPN tunnels for the vendor and remote consultants.
  • Managing Offshore resources to ensure roundtheclock system stability
  • Assisting the Laboratory Information System Managers to coordinate projects and resource management, supervise junior team members
  • Perform Laboratory Information System related Hardware maintenance like label printers, report printers, creation of print queues, etc.
  • Coordinating regular Server restarts and routine maintenance activities with the Laboratory, Laboratory Information System and the server support teams.
  • Enduser troubleshooting to make sure expedited resolution of any issues in the production environment.
  • Provide Off hours and Weekend support and help coordinate upgrade and Go-Live events.
  • Working with the IT, Network, End user support services to ensure laboratory Information system team requests for various services are catered to.
  • Resolving internal tickets, Helpdesk tickets created by users and maintaining updates on the vendor ticketing system.
  • Works with client management to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes (e.g., diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools, etc.).
  • Formulates logical statements of business, scientific and/or engineering requirements.
  • Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution for the systems design considering existing systems, available technology, the capacity and limitations of equipment, operating time and form of desired results.
  • Works with development, operations, technical support and other IT areas as appropriate throughout the development and installation processes.
  • Designs a detailed systems testing plan to ensure an accurate and effective product.
  • May give some direction and guidance to other Application Analysts.
  • Prepares charts, tables and diagrams to assist in analyzing problems, utilizing, if necessary, various business, scientific and/or engineering mathematical techniques.
  • Analyzes existing system logic difficulties and revises the logic and procedures involved as necessary.
  • May assist in the supervision and preparation of logic flow charting.
  • May act as a project leader.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Four years of solid, diverse work experience in IT.
  • Medical Laboratory Technologist Licensure preferred
  • 23 years of Laboratory system experience required.
  • Knowledge of Soft SCC or Sunquest LIS system preferred.
  • Requires at least one year of experience in laboratory information experience in database changes and instrument interfaces.

Compensation Statement


The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
