    Assistant Director of Operations - Crime Victim Services

    What you will do:


    The Assistant Director of Operations is responsible for oversight of the daily work of and collaboration between of the Crime Victim Services Support and Advocacy Program Crisis Team; Support and Advocacy Clinical Team; St.

    Peter's Health Partners Forensic Examiner Hospital Program; Enhanced Elder Abuse Multi-Disciplinary Teams in Albany, Rensselaer, Schenectady, Columbia, and Greene Counties; and Healthy Families of Rensselaer County.


    In their role, the Assistant Director of Operations directly supervises the leadership of each department/program, ensuring that necessary services are provided to patients/clients who interface with the St.

    Peter's Health Partners system and in the community.


    These services include:

    24/7 access to crisis counseling, advocacy, and safety planning; 24/7 forensic examiner services throughout SPHP Acute Care; counseling, therapy, support groups, medical and legal advocacy, and case management for crime victims/survivors and their families; coordination of multi-disciplinary teams; the availability of attorney services at no cost; in-home visiting and supportive services; and more.

    The Assistant Director of Operations is responsible for representing the programs both throughout the SPHP system and in the larger community, developing and maintaining relationships with necessary partner organizations, and ensuring that strong partnerships exist between programs.


    Additionally, the Assistant Director of Operations retains fiscal oversight for all programs in their purview, project management of key initiatives, and is responsible for ensuring that grant reports and vouchering for their programs/departments is completed in a timely and thorough manner.

    The Assistant Director of Operations is also responsible for ensuring that the departments are trauma-informed in practice both for patients/clients and colleagues, and complying with any state and/or federal requirements of their programming.

    Finally, the Assistant Director of Operations works with the entire team of colleagues to carry out and implement short and long-term strategic plans for the programs and uphold the mission of St.

    Peter's Health Partners.


    Responsibilities:

    • Direct and manage all operations, programs, and activities of the St. Peter's Forensic Examiner Program, Crime Victim Support and Advocacy Program - Crisis Service, Support and Advocacy Program - Clinical Services, Enhanced Elder Abuse Multidisciplinary Team Program, and Healthy Families departments to ensure alignment with St. Peter's Health Partners Core values.
    • Work with the leaders of the Support and Advocacy Program Crisis Team and Forensic Examiner Program to assure alignment in practice, and strong collaboration between departments when responding to acute patients who have experienced victimization.
    • Hire, supervise, and evaluate leadership staff within the departments.
    • Cultivate a culture of mutual respect and trauma-informed practice for patients/clients among colleagues, volunteers, and interns.
    • Support department leadership in addressing colleague relations issues, and work with SPHP Human Resources, as necessary.
    • Develop and implement the policy decisions and requirements of SPHP and grant funders.
    • Offer support, as needed, to leadership team and colleagues in the navigation of complex patient/client issues.
    • Work collaboratively with leadership team to maintain a high level of colleague engagement and satisfaction.
    • Manage recruitment and retention efforts for programs, including but not limited to development of job descriptions, posting of positions, interviews of candidates, colleague satisfaction and engagement work, and mitigation of vicarious trauma.
    • Monitor all financial and accounting activities of the departments.
    • Develop sufficient resources to ensure the financial sustainability of the departments.
    • Work closely with the Sr. Grants Specialist and Grants Specialists to prepare grant reports and ensure compliance with all funders for the programs in their purview.
    • Prepare annual budgets for departments with Finance Office.
    • Prepare monthly financial reports for one-up supervisor, including explanation of budget variances.
    • Engage in, coordinate, and conduct fundraising activities, in collaboration with the SPHP Department of Philanthropy.
    • Responsible for maintaining and cultivating strong relationships with funders/contract managers.
    • Ensure that all sub-contractors are adhering to expected activites outlined in consultant agreements.
    • Ensure that strategic initiatives, including grant objectives, are met by programs.
    • In collaboration with St. Peter's Health Partners, Director of Crime Victim Services, funders, and colleagues, implement Strategic Plan activities in accordance with the departments mission.
    • Collaborate with appropriate community agencies and SPHP departments to ensure that the programs are fulfilling their missions.
    • Coordinate and oversee QA processes to evaluate satisfaction of patients/clients, and work with necessary parties to rectify any service issues.

    What you will need:

    • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or related field required.
    • Master's degree preferred.
    • 8+ years of experience working in a program serving victims/survivors of crime and/or engaging in prevention work, with a minimum of 5 years in a management/leadership position.
    • Knowledge of NYS and Federal victim assistance community.
    • Must have extensive knowledge of NYS grant processes and a proven record of successful grant management.
    • Sexual Assault Counselor certification by the New York State Department of Health is required for this position to provide crisis intervention, victim advocacy, and counseling services. (Note - if the colleague does not already possess this certification, it will be provided by the program at no cost.

    Pay Range:
    $ $59.75

    Pay is based on experience, skills, and education.

    Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.

    The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
