The Communications Manager, BSRO, will be responsible for internal and external communications activities for the BSRO business. This position will play a key role in managing the reputation of BSRO among various stakeholders, including but not limited to employees, media, consumers and strategic partners. **Responsibilities**
Develop strategic and integrated communications plans/activities to enhance the reputation of BSRO nationally and in the local communities where it does business.
Monitor and mitigate issues on an ongoing basis to protect the companys reputation among key stakeholders; align with Enterprise Crisis Management team and provide crisis communications support as needed.
Identify unique and intriguing storytelling opportunities to drive attention, excitement and business results in support of Bridgestone Americas Communications objectives.
Generate high quality earned media coverage for the BSRO business, its product and service offerings, cause marketing program, and sustainability practices.
Develop and implement a thought leadership strategy for BSRO leaders and other relevant subject matter experts and produce content for each opportunity.
Write and support distribution of all enterprise internal communications for the BSRO business, including leadership messages, organizational changes and personnel announcements; in addition, partner closely with BSRO Retail Communications team to support day-to-day, run-the-business BSRO communications activities as needed.
Work with agency to produce quarterly magazine that is distributed to all 20,000+ BSRO employees.
Lead/manage BSROs cause marketing partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
Create social media content for corporate and marketing channels to amplify BSRO initiatives.
Manage third-party agency resources to produce results in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Oversee all communications budget activities in support of the BSRO business.
Support communications for Special Projects as needed, including preparing communications materials for M&A activities related to the BSRO and Bridgestone Americas businesses.
**Qualifications**
10-12 years of relevant work experience in corporate communications, retail communications, public relations, journalism or another related field.
Superior influencing and negotiation skills, including the ability to lead and work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of both internal teammates and external agency partners.
Proven ability to write content in a clear, concise, compelling way in the face of changing deadlines.
Can-do, self-starter attitude and a sense of urgency in a rapidly changing environment.
Continuous demonstration of superior problem-solving, decision-making and project management skills.
Results-oriented with an ability to think strategically while executing tactically.
Executive presence and experience working with C-suite executives.
Ability to work independently, as well as be a strong team player in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Strong skills in project management, client service, time management, multi-tasking; an ability to adhere to fixed deadlines and flexibility to handle changing deadlines.
Superior attention to detail.
Exceptional written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
Minimum of a bachelors degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field of study.
Retail communications experience and experience working in a matrix organization preferred.
