    We foster professional and personal development and offer prospects for career advancement. Headquartered in downtown Los Angeles, AC Martin, Inc. is seeking a hands-on and results-driven individual for a Staff Accountant role.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Perform a variety of tasks to accomplish specific general accounting requirements as outlined by internal processes and procedures.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Preparation of daily bank reconciliation and report daily cash balances of the parent company and all its subsidiaries.
    • Company credit card reconciliation and liquidation process.
    • Set up and complete documentation of new projects, clients, and vendors.
    • Assist Project Accountants in processing accurate and timely project billings.
    • Process consultant invoices and payment releases and other expense payments in accordance with contracts.
    • Assist Project Accountants with monitoring, tracking, and analyzing project costs in relation to cost budgets and contracts.
    • Assist in the maintenance and organization of project files.
    • Actively participate in the monthly closing process - prepayments, accruals, depreciation, and other month-end adjustments, intercompany billing for the head office and its subsidiaries.
    • Reconcile General Ledger Accounts. Prepare special reports and schedules for management use.
    • Assist in the preparation of PBC schedules required for the annual review of the Company's financial statements by outside public accountants and other periodic external audits, as needed.
    • Perform other accounting or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time - quite often on short notice - by the Accounting Manager and/or Supervisor.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES
    This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.


    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


    • A bachelor's degree in accounting or in business administration with an emphasis in accounting is required.
    • Experience in architecture, design, engineering, and/or construction is preferred.
    • Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
    • Must have excellent work habits, including willingness to work the extra hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal department pressures.
    • At least five (5) years of experience in accounting required.
    • Must have a "can-do" attitude, be a team player, and work well with others.
    • Must be highly skilled in Excel and the MS Office Suite along with prior working knowledge of integrated accounting systems.
    • Deltek experience is a plus.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS


    We offer career advancement opportunities and an excellent compensation and benefits package that includes group medical, dental, vision, AD&D, and life insurance coverage, 401(k) plan, paid monthly parking, one-week year-end holiday shut‐down, and an alternative work schedule of 40 hours/week based on a 4 1⁄2‐day workweek, Monday - Thursday onsite and half day on Friday working remotely.

    Must be able to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination.

    Salary range is between $65,000 and $70,000 annually.
