    Position: Staff Accountant

    Report to: Director of Finance

    The Staff Accountant provides accounting and analytical support to the Finance Manager. Prepare general journal entries, schedules and provided analysis in support of month close, quarterly reviews, and annual audits. This position may be asked to perform other duties and special projects as requested by management.

    Essential Duties:

    • Process weekly Payroll using ADP.
    • Track and apply PTO and PSL per company policy and legal regulations.
    • Calculate and process final paychecks and paperwork as needed.
    • Record invoices and other accounting transactions into the accounting system
    • Prepare Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation such as prepaids and accruals
    • Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records (e.g., disbursements, expenses, receipts, accounts payable).
    • Reconcile multiple bank accounts.
    • Prepare general journal entries and provide accounting and analytical support to management during the month-end close process.
    • Reconcile A/P against vendor statements monthly.
    • Prepare check run.
    • Prepare schedules and analysis to support timely reporting and annual audits.
    • Assist in month-end closing for each accounting cycle.
    • Prepare Financial Statements using accounting software.
    • Create and maintain the rental/lease Occupancy Schedules
    • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accounting principles as well as company policies and procedures.
    • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
    • Support the Finance Manager/Operations in all legal matters as leases, agreements, and vendors contracts.
    • Support management with special projects as needed.
    • Apply policies and procedures for internal controls.
    • Prepare and file sales tax returns, 8027s, 571Ls, 1099s
    • Perform any other relevant duties as assigned

    Skills & Qualifications

    • Experience with accrual accounting
    • Willingness and ability to learn and work with new systems. Experience with systems related to the restaurant industry such as – Restaurant 365
    • Must have strong analytical skills, good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 365 with intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge
    • Ability to work extra hours during month end close and as needed.
    • Ability to work in collaborative team environment.
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing business demands and project requests.
    • Degree in Accounting (Preferred)

    Job Type: Full-time

    Location: Downtown Los Angeles (twice a week remote if needed)

    Schedule:

    • Monday to Friday

    Experience:

    • Accounting: 3-5 years

    Education:

    • Bachelor's (Preferred)

    Salary Range:

    · $65,000 - $85,000 (based on Experience)
