    Description

    Eleven Recruiting is hiring an Assistant Vice President of Tax Operations to join one of our largest Investment Management clients sitting onsite 3 days a week in Los Angeles, CA. This role will serve as a business analyst within the Operations team in the Tax department, continuously overseeing projects, initiatives, and work streams aimed at transforming the Tax function. This role emphasizes identifying improvement opportunities and managing cross-functional projects. Collaboration with colleagues in Tax, Treasury, Accounting, and IT, as well as external service providers, will be pivotal in leading efforts to enhance department operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead project management, strategic planning, process documentation, and large data management.
    • Analyze process issues and bottlenecks to drive improvements.
    • Develop new processes in collaboration with business stakeholders, providing training before implementation.
    • Participate in and/or drive technology selection or implementations for the department.
    • Manage risk and issue resolution processes, ensuring swift corrective action.
    • Collaborate effectively with internal and external departments, stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and vendors to define requirements and present solutions.
    • Research industry best practices and recommend improvements for a continuous improvement approach to operations.
    • Improve data management operations for efficiency and scalability.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders on roadmap planning and workforce optimization.
    • Implement changes with managers and employees to enhance workflow and cross-departmental engagements.
    • Coordinate all activities leading to the successful completion of projects and initiatives, including scoping, design, budgeting, and metrics.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for project scopes.
    • Coordinate input and participation from various departments within the company to meet project objectives.
    • Produce and manage operational deliverables and communications to stakeholders, including executive-level reporting and presentations.

    Qualifications
    • 8+ years of relevant experience in finance operations, project management, and process improvement.
    • Big 4 accounting experience with tax compliance and reporting.
    • Strong knowledge of general finance, process documentation, and cross-functional operations.
    • Solid analytical skills and ability to resolve complex problems.
    • Experience with large data sets, including manipulation and reconciliations.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio.
    • Ability to manage tasks with competing priorities and deadlines, driving projects independently.
    • Knowledge of Scrum, JIRA, or other project management tools is a plus.

    Education
    • Bachelor's degree relevant to the position; a Master's degree is a plus.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) is a plus.

    Base Salary Range
    • $135,000-$165,000

    Seniority Level: Senior-level

    Salary: $160,000
