FORESTRY TECHNICIAN (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) -
SONOMA-MENDOCINO COAST DISTRICT/RUSSIAN RIVER SECTOR/ DUNCANS MILLS SECTOR OFFI

The reporting location for this position is The Duncans Mills Sector Office.
This position will work under the direction of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory).

  • The Forestry Technician will assist natural resource management staff
- in the District in implementing projects for the protection, restoration, and management of natural resources in support of the State Parks Wildfire and Forest Resilience Program.

  • This position may work up to 1500 hours per year/in a 12 consecutive month period.
  • Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Working Conditions

Physical work outdoors in various weather conditions.

During prescribed fire operations, the employee will be exposed to smoke and heat and may be required to work long hours and weekends/holidays.

As safety allows, work continues in all types of weather.
