ASSOCIATE STATE ARCHEOLOGIST (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) - MONTEREY DISTRICT / MONTEREY DISTRICT OFFICE
This position may be downgraded to Assistant State Archeologist for recruitment purposes.
The reporting location for this position is Monterey, CA. This position will work under the general direction of State Historian III.
- The reporting location for this position is the Monterey District Office. Under the direction of the State Historian III, and working closely with the District Associate Archaeologist, this position will be responsible for implementing the District's Cultural Resources Cannabis Watershed Project, consisting of archaeological resource identification, recordation, evaluation, monitoring, and treatment measures for sites impacted by Cannabisrelated activities. The position is responsible for identification and documentation of resources through standardized forms and GPS/GIS data; creating and managing GIS data and maps; developing treatment measures; and monitoring results. Funding for the position is currently only provided for the duration of the CWPP project, which is four (4) years.
- This position may work up to 1500 hours per year/in a 12 consecutive month period.
- Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
- This position is designated as not telework eligible.
