    Description

    Position Title:
    Project Engineer Intern
    Starting Salary Range $22-$25 per hour

    As a Project Engineer Intern you will have the opportunity to gain experience how to provide project management support for Project Managers through effective communication, negotiation, scheduling, tracking, document control, and forecasting of costs and profitability.

    Support and collaborate with company superintendents, foreman, engineers, detailers, and management to deliver quality and profitable projects.

    Throughout the duration of the internship, the intern will learn how to:

    Build client and subcontractor relationships
    Assist in the establishment of project forecasts and budget
    Assisting with project submittals
    Accept responsibility for project execution
    Tracking, forecasting, reporting labor hours and material costs
    Major equipment and subcontracts buyout
    Tracking deliveries of major equipment/materials
    Document control with UMC Standards as well as contractual compliance
    Collaboration with field labor supervision to plan, organize and schedule project work including preparation of subcontract/contract integrated project schedule
    Review contract drawings, detail drawings and specifications
    Participate in jobsite visits/ mechanical contracting observation s

    Must be pursuing or have a bachelor/master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
    Excellent critical thinking skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals
    Preferred experience with PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
    Experienced dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work is a plus Initiative-taker who can work well on a team
