    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Basic Function of the Position:
    • To act as lead venue director in managing exhibit floor, meeting space and suites operations; provide customer support and other critical show logistics for CES.
    • Critical Duties and Responsibilities: (List the most critical duties and responsibilities of the position
    • from most critical to least critical.)
    Lead exhibit floor, meeting space and suite operations for CES (Venetian) and other CTA events:
    • Direct the general contractor, venue management and key show vendors in executing exhibit floor operations including freight management, rigging, electrical, Internet/voice, cleaning and union relations.
    • Manage show branding, graphics and dcor plans.
    • Develop detailed security plans and event protocols with security contractors, including perimeter security, keynotes, target areas and heightened security measures.
    • Negotiate and manage venue and vendor contracts and maintain future date calendars and oversee various budget items.
    • Communicate show rules and regulations and pertinent show/vendor information to exhibitors on a regular basis, i.e., service manual, newsletters, website content, educational series.
    • Supervise seasonal temp(s), on-site consultants and floor management staff.
    • Manage media events and other services at off-site venues during pre-show event days.
    • Develop departmental goals, objectives and standard operating procedures.
    • Manage department programs, projects, and activities and provide various reports and analysis throughout the show cycle.
    • Performs other duties assigned.
    Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

    Work Experience:
    • 10-15 years' work experience managing exhibit floor operations for major trade shows or large multi venue corporate events.
    Education/Training:
    • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent years' experience in the trade show industry.
    • Courses/studies and/or training related to the exposition industry preferred.
    Skills/Capabilities/Technical:
    • Experience with large trade show operations strongly preferred.
    • Experience in vendor management, specifically pertaining to exhibit floor, i.e. freight, rigging and electrical strongly preferred.
    • Venue and hotel contract negotiation skills.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Customer service skills and team oriented attitude required.
    • Organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-pace environment.
    • Ability to delegate and manage personnel.
    • Knowledge of MS Office applications and ability to learn new databases quickly.
    • Budget and Staff:
    • Manage large budget $10M+.
    • Manage seasonal and on-site staff as assigned.
    Additional Information:
    • Overtime and travel related to preshow planning and show required.
