- Position: Set Design/ Carpenter

- Read and interpret shop drawings and cut sheets to prepare materials for fabrication, either independently or with a lead
- Take Measurements, and accurately cut or otherwise shape materials according to those measurements
- Work independently or with a team to fabricate props and other set pieces
- Prepare Assets for transport, including the fabrication of crates or other similar shipping materials
- Follow instructions from 3rd-party fabricators in order to build new set pieces in the warehouse or on site
- Build assets on site at our events, either from raw materials or pre-constructed items
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Adhere to safety requirements put in place by management
- Creative, competent carpenter with 1-3 years of building experience
- Skilled with shop and hand tools
- Enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Interest in growing building and design skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and climates
- Must be flexible to travel
- Ability to to complete physically demanding tasks, such as standing and/or walking for long periods
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to lift objects without an established maximum weight, though most objects will be below 50 lbs. **Reasonable accommodations may be made to allow differently-abled individuals to perform the essential functions of the job.**
- Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools (eg. drills, impacts, socket wrenches)
- Ability to problem-solve, and properly escalate issues as they are encountered in the field
- Ability to perform necessary and appropriate duties for set-up and load-out in a safe and efficient manner, including the loading and unloading of event trucks.
- Must be prompt, and be able to work all shifts as assigned
- Starting at $25/hr. Higher rates may be offered for potential staff with significant experience. This is a part time position, but may work up to 40 hours per week on site during install and strike periods. Payments will be made weekly.

Job Summary:
The Set Design/ Carpenter role works directly with the Design/ Build Manager in the fabrication of creative assets for our owned events and other client services projects. This role primarily involves fabrication of assets from wood or similar sheet materials, although they may occasionally work with metals or plastic materials. Additionally, this role involves work on site at our events, installing assets that have previously been fabricated by our team or by 3rd-party fabricators.
