    Nemours is looking for an Occupational Therapist (CASUAL/PRN) to join their team at Nemours Children's Health in Orlando, Florida.

    This position is on an as-needed basis to cover shifts in acute care, inpatient rehab, or outpatient settings at NCH. The role involves providing coverage for planned time off, unexpected absences, and supporting patient care during high census periods. This may include working weekends and holidays, with varying hours per week.

    Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, Fla., is the newest facility in the Nemours healthcare system. The hospital, with 130 beds, includes the only 24-hour Emergency Department in the area designed specifically for children, along with outpatient pediatric clinics offering specialties not previously available in the region. The hospital, designed with families in mind, combines the healing aspects of nature with cutting-edge healthcare to provide top-tier care to children in Central Florida and beyond. In line with their mission of extending care to the communities they serve, Nemours also offers specialized outpatient services at various clinics across the region.

    The Occupational Therapist will conduct evaluations, provide treatment and consultations to patients referred to the Nemours Children's Hospital Therapeutic and Rehabilitation Services Department. The services will be rendered under a physician's prescription and in accordance with departmental and hospital protocols. The Occupational Therapist should demonstrate expertise in pediatric care for patients ranging from birth to 21 years old, and may also need to handle neonatal cases based on the assigned setting.

    Responsibilities include:
    • Evaluating and treating pediatric Occupational Therapy cases following departmental competencies.
    • Developing staff by creating activities that enhance knowledge and professionalism, and participating in peer reviews.
    • Mentoring occupational therapy students and new staff, staying updated on field trends and research.
    • Continuing education, presenting in-service updates, engaging in professional development activities.
    • Participating in program development to boost awareness, attending meetings and contributing to department goals.
    • Collaborating with other departments, ensuring timely documentation, attending patient treatment meetings, and staying informed about insurance referral processes.
    Job Requirements:
    • Must hold a Bachelor's Degree.
    • At least three (3) months of experience is mandatory; recent graduates with relevant educational backgrounds will be considered.
    • Florida State License for Occupational Therapy practice is essential.
    • American Heart Association BLS Certification is required upon employment.
    • Membership in professional organizations like AOTA and FOTA is preferred.
    • Prior experience in pediatrics is a plus.
    • Availability for weekend shifts is a necessity.
