    THE OP GAMES (USAOPOLY)EVENTS & MARKETING COORDINATORFull-time Marketing Services Team Manager position available with Carlsbad, CA-based board game company

    Salary Range:
    $45,000 - $55,000Reports to: Marketing Services ManagerStatus: Full-timeLocation: Carlsbad office
    • Hybrid scheduleSummary: The Events & Marketing Coordinator works closely with internal teams to coordinate events (conventions, sales and trade shows, special events, and other events) and marketing needs.
    This position coordinates all aspects of event planning including logistics, booth inventory and materials, rentals, shipping, staff and volunteer scheduling, event-related sales materials, event promos, and vendor relationships.


    Interaction:
    Interface with key department personnel: Marketing, Product Brand Management, Sales, Operations, and Customer Support. Work with outside parties including licensors, advertisers, sponsors, media, agencies, and consultants.


    Priority Ranking:
    Coordinate events & tradeshows
    • At the direction Marketing Services Manager, follow through with event related logistics and execution.

    Marketing team support
    • Act as a general coordinator for the marketing team for shipping, communications, and other responsibilities as determined by manager.

    Responsibilities:
    EventsCoordinate annual events, timelines, and plansExecute on event budgets based on parameters set by the Marketing Services Manager and Director of MarketingMonitor and reconcile invoices and individual event budgetsProvide event recap including photos, sales, and feedback (where appropriate)


    Coordinate and facilitate event-related contract negotiationsNegotiate rates and secure group hotel blocks and meeting spacesManage on-site executions including staff schedules, booth set-up/dismantle, rentals, labor, inventory, special events, and rafflesCoordinate with sales team to determine product needed for various eventsCoordinate shipping and drayage to and from all eventsCoordinate staffing and volunteer lists and schedules for each showSubmit creative requests for all event collateral, signage, etc.

    Work with graphic designers and editors on event marketing materialsCreate event timelines and checklists to manage workflowManage relationships with outside vendors and partners, including production companies, decorators, unions, and exhibition companiesMaintain event files and document all events for future referenceMarketing CoordinationAssisting the marketing team with planning, brainstorming, presentations, file organization, meeting note-taking, and other support tasksShipping of product from warehouse to various media and influencer contactsTime Distribution:40% - Event planning & management30% - Marketing team support10% - Meetings10% - Reporting and presentations10% - Travel & on-site events managementQualifications:2+ years of experience in tradeshow & events planningAbility to travel for events, including weekendsExperience with tabletop games and/or entertainment industryComfortable with technology, knowledge of Airtable a plus

    Required Skills:
    Excellent communication and organizational skillsStrong collaboration skills to resolve issues through patience, empathy, and positivityStrong problem-solving abilitiesTeam player who is also able to lead with a professional demeanorAbility to perform under minimal supervisionEffective multitasker with the ability to meet tight deadlines

    Preferred Job/Industry Experience:
    Knowledge of collectible, toy, or board game industry preferred.
    Knowledge of pop culture (film, TV, comic book, graphic novel, anime, video game, tabletop game, literature, toys, collectibles) required.
