    SUMMARY:
    Serves as initial contact at check-in. Patient Services Coordinator greets patients and coordinates all services to get patients efficiently through the facility. This is a non-exempt, hourly position.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :


    Enthusiastically greets patients, parents and visitors and ensures that all appropriate visitors/vendors sign in and are provided with a visitor badge.

    Answers, screens, and direct calls; document and escalate all patient complaints; takes detailed messages and/or transfers telephone calls to appropriate team members or voice mail.

    Manage provider schedules including scheduling appointments, no-shows, late arrivals and appointment confirmations.
    Reviews after hours' phone log/ voice mailbox throughout the day; addresses all messages and directs messages to appropriate personnel.

    Assist patients with the completion of all required paperwork, scans insurance cards and photo ID's, and updates existing patient information and demographics into computer system.

    Collect co-payments, deductibles and patient account balances. Balance daily front desk collections and close daily journals with appropriate team member(s).
    Draft return to school/work notes and other correspondence as directed by providers.
    Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition.
    Communicate with patients/parents about wait times; including offering refreshments as appropriate.
    Other duties as assigned.


    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    High school diploma or


    GED

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience
    Completion of a medical office training program
    College degree
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,


    AND ABILITIES:
    Personality and demeanor to work with the public and assist distraught families.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Strong interpersonal skills.
    Good organizational skills.
    Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    Frequently required to sit for 6-7 hours daily at a computer terminal.
    Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
    Frequently required to reach, bend, and lift 15 lbs.


    LANGUAGE SKILLS :
    Bilingual English/Spanish.
