    Exciting Opportunity: Policy Development Manager at Trust for America's Health

    Trust for America's Health (TFAH), a prominent organization dedicated to public health policy, research, and advocacy, is looking for a dedicated Policy Development Manager with a strong focus on health equity. This role involves managing and supporting department initiatives related to various public health policy issues in collaboration with the Director of Policy.

    TFAH, a non-profit entity, strives to ensure optimal health for individuals and communities, emphasizing the prevention of illness and injury as a national priority. The organization's work encompasses areas such as public health funding, obesity, health equity, substance misuse, and more.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage crucial aspects of assigned Policy Development initiatives focusing on state public health policy and social determinants of health.
    • Lead the development and implementation of technical assistance components.
    • Establish relationships with stakeholders at national, state, and local levels.
    • Support the planning and execution of webinars, policy convenings, and collaborative networks.
    • Conduct policy research, write reports, issue briefs, and other relevant materials.
    • Develop and oversee content for communication related to initiatives.
    • Deliver presentations at conferences and meetings.
    • Undertake other duties as delegated.

    Requirements

    • 5-7 years of relevant policy experience, particularly in health policy and/or health equity.
    • Bachelor's degree in public health, public policy, or a related field.
    • Knowledge of social determinants of health and public health policies.
    • Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing policy information.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to tailor content for varied audiences.
    • Experience in research, analysis, and effective writing.
    • Capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
    • Aptitude to thrive under pressure in both independent and team settings.
    • Commitment to impartiality and engaging with diverse perspectives.

    This position is located in Washington, DC and requires in-office presence at least two days a week.
