Description
This is a full-time remote position that requires significant domestic travel, approximately 50-75%PURPOSE:
This position provides support for all labor relations matters companywide as part of the UNFI Labor Relations Team.
You will have a central focus on helping develop and maintain a positive associate relations program that supports the full engagement of the company's associates.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and conduct positive associate relations trainings for leaders.
Develop, implement, and coordinate associate education and communication materials and trainings.
Develop and maintain plans to address associate issues, and lead coordination with local leadership to implement key action items.
Partner with operations and HR leaders to create and maintain positive associate relations programs and best practices.
Work with leadership on all levels and across functions to proactively identify, collect and analyze key associate issues.
Review company policies and practices for positive associate relations matters and work with cross-functional colleagues on those policies.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to collective bargaining, unions, and labor relations.
Develop and maintain team processes and materials relating to positive associate relations and engagement.
As needed, develop and conduct labor relations training for union facilities, and assist with contract negotiations, grievances and arbitrations under the supervision of LR leadership.
Performs other relevant job duties as required.JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:
Bachelor's degree and/or educational equivalent plus work experience in a labor relations, human resources, or project management capacity.
Law degree or master's degree in human resources management, Labor Relations, or Organizational Development or similar field a strong plus.
Experience:
Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
Ability to handle sensitive and highly confidential information.
Strong written and oral communication skills; great attention to detail.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact comfortably with senior leaders and across organizational lines.
Must be able to work with tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
High-quality judgment and sound decision-making.
Understanding of laws and regulations relating to labor relations, employee relations and human resources.
Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint a plus.
Must have excellent time management and communication skills.
Must be able to work with tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to monitor project progress and timely handle any issues that arise.
Ability to act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants.
PHYSICAL ENVIORNMENT/DEMANDS:
Fully remote; approximately 50-75% domestic travel required.
Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
Exposed to temperatures, ranging from -20
Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday.
Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
