    • Meridian, IdahoStatewide Opportunity The Bureau of Criminal Identification is seeking applicants to fill a Technical Records Specialist 1 position in their Sex Offender Registry Unit.
    This position provides a variety of records support functions; reviews and processes documents; determines and explains compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policies and takes appropriate action; maintains a manual or computerized records system; performs related work.


    PLEASE NOTE:
    The successful applicant will be required to complete a background investigation and polygraph examination, which includes drug screening. Please review the ISP Drug Policy ( and ISP Grooming and Appearance Standards (.


    Example of Duties:
    + Update offender information in the Idaho Central Sex Offender Registry database + Conduct in-depth research of criminal records and legal documents relating to offender duty to register and registry compliance + Review and verify all incoming documents received by the state of Idaho for convicted sex offenders + Respond to customers regarding policies, procedures, and Idaho Code + Research a variety of sources for verification and proper determination + Research statutes from other states and make determinations as to equivalency to Idaho's statutes + Write detailed documentation justifying equivalency determinations + Apply the law as it relates to sex offenders and assist with interpreting criminal history records

    Minimum Qualifications:
    Experience: + Monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors + Researching a variety of sources to resolve problems + Interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments + Entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system + Using word processing software to create and modify documents Desirable qualifications: + Experience working in a law enforcement agency entering Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR), National Incident Based Reporting Systems (N To view full details and how to apply, please login or create a Job Seeker account
