    Description

    The Director, Operations plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities required for effective management of the Operations Department, to include supervision of the Field Team. The primary goal of the candidate who is successful in this role is to ensure quality installations and Client satisfaction while maintaining fiscal responsibility for the department. Work will primarily be conducted at customer sites and within the PTI office setting.

    ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervise, develop, coach, guide, evaluate, hold accountable and discipline Operations Department personnel in accordance with PTI policies and procedures.
    • Develop Operations Department short- and long-range goals to coincide with Company objectives.
    • Establish and maintain procedures and standards for quality installations.
    • Monitor installations for on time on budget performance.
    • Determine appropriate staffing levels for Operations Department and adjust in accordance with PTI policies and procedures.
    • Forecast department requirements, expenditures, and develop annual budgets.
    • Ensure fiscal responsibility of the department including revenue generation and cost containment, analyze variances from budget, and take corrective actions.
    • Provide reports to senior management to include but not limited to revenue forecasting and staff performance.
    • Establish and implement productivity standards and communicate job expectations to staff.
    • Ensure accurate project information is maintained in Company shared files and system.
    • Maintain, monitor, and update departmental policies and procedures.
    • Maintain communications with clients to include monitoring satisfaction, resolving complaints, resolving collection issues, and other.
    • Monitor and amend departmental documentation as needed, invoices, credits.
    • Maintain knowledge of current industry standards and emerging technologies.
    • Represent Company in a business-like professional manner in both conduct and appearance, to maximize client satisfaction.
    • Work in compliance with the Company's policies and procedures including safety manual.
    • Communicate effectively and timely to resolve Company, Client, or other inquiries and/or requests.
    • Work proactively and in a positive manner with co-workers.
    • Maintain and protect assigned Company assets.
    • Maintain professional licensing as required by State and Local jurisdictions.
    • Available to work outside of, or in addition to, normal businesses hours.
    SUPERVISORY DUTIES:

    In accordance with applicable Company policies/procedures and Federal/State laws, may perform the following supervisory responsibilities: Interviewing, hiring orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supervise, develop, evaluate, and discipline Operations Department personnel in accordance with PTI policies and procedures.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • 8 years experience in the low voltage industry, with experience in the security industry
    • 3 or moreyears prior management experience supervising a team
    • Ability to pass pre-employment or client required background and/or drug screens
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • 10 years experience in the low voltage industry, with experience in the security industry preferred
    • 5 or moreyears prior management experience supervising a team
    • Technical degree, Associates degree or Bachelors degree
    DEMONSTRATED COMPETENCIES:
    • Excellent time-management and organizational skills. Ability to work in a high-volume atmosphere.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under minimal supervision.
    • Ability to organize workload for effective implementation, including the ability to multi-task while under deadlines or time constraints.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills including customer service skills.
    • Proven track record in building and developing effective teams.
    • Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
    • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
    • Ability to function as an effective team member.
    • Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.
    • Has a strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals, security system functions and operations. Good subcontracting skills required.
    • An understanding of job financial reports and the ability to control costs in the handling of projects.
    • Adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate, (i.e., see, hear, speak, and write clearly) in order to communicate with colleagues and/or customers; manual dexterity required for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment.
    • Position is a desk job requiring the use of computer, keyboard, and phone.
    WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT: In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
    • The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate.
    • This is an office-based job.

    PAY: $150-175,000 Annually DOE
