ICP Group is headquartered in Andover, MA and has manufacturing and distribution sites throughout North America, Latin America, UK, Europe and the Asia Pacific region.

    ICP Group is looking to identify a VP, EHS to join our team. Ideally this position will be based in Andover, MA. The EHS leader is responsible for creating and deploying the organization's global EHS strategy by providing leadership, guidance, and direction to ensure successful planning, implementation, and sustainment of strategic initiatives. In this role you will partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop and lead execution of ICP's environmental, health and safety strategy. Must be able to align strategy and operational execution with executive management and functional leaders. Will prioritize EHS goals and have functional accountability for achievement of sustainability goals and strategic initiatives related to EHS.

    This role will work with leaders to develop strategies and implement tactical plans delivering on our environmental commitments to ensure the highest level of compliance, quality, and ethics. Advises Executive Management on strategic direction and internal alignment needs and frequently represents the organization internally and externally at all levels.

    This role will lead, assess, develop, implement, train, track, analyze, and communicate environmental, health and safety regulatory guidance for ICP Group's company employees, vendors and contractors. This typically involves effectively integrating information to meet and exceed regulatory requirements in a cost-effective manner.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work with Executive and leaders to develop strategies and implement tactical plans delivering on our environmental, health and safety commitments to ensure the highest level of global compliance, quality, and ethics.
    • Advises Executive Management on strategic direction and internal alignment needs and frequently represents the organization internally and externally at all levels.
    • Overall EHS program change management and communications to align with executive management, and functional leaders to ensure efficient and effective program implementation.
    • Continually adapt program structure, priorities, and strategies to meet the needs of a dynamic, growing corporation through best-in-class EHS programs maximizing business performance.
    • Ensure that EHS policies, risk assessment and management tools, audit and oversight processes, regulatory information resources, data management and metrics are in place to sufficiently manage EHS risks and compliance requirements and measure and report on progress towards sustainability-related EHS goals across ICP.
    • In support of M&A activities, lead EHS due diligence and execution of the integration action plan and generally assist in the integration of acquisition target companies into ICP.
    • Act as liaison to regulatory agencies and other governmental or public entities.
    • Manage the remediation of contaminated properties in a cost-effective and timely manner. Serve as the office with primary responsibility managing contaminated properties at discontinued operations, from remedial investigations through regulatory closure. Ensure adequate financial reserves are maintained to fund remedial obligations and advise senior management of pending expenditures.
    • Hands-on leader that will:
      • Work closely with site leadership and site EH&S professionals to ensure that policies, procedures and initiatives provide an efficient and effective safe work environment.
      • Lead relentless EH&S improvement efforts across regional facilities through coaching, coalition building and engagement in the EH&S process.
      • Be a change agent. Champion efforts to proactively address EH&S related issues through safety observations, near miss reporting, hazard identification reporting and facility inspections.
      • Have a focused effort in driving housekeeping (5S), hazard recognition, risk assessment and compliance improvements.
      • Partners with site managers, stakeholders (employees, vendors, contractors, etc.) to ensure EH&S policies, procedures and initiatives provide safe and efficient work environments.
      • Ensure that all EH&S management systems and guidelines remain up-to-date and complaint. Responsible for monitoring and updating programs as appropriate.
      • Oversee the maintaining of EH&S compliance and timely reporting (e.g. permits, licenses, and maintaining appropriate records) for federal, state and local laws and applicable agency regulations.

    Experience needed

    • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering or relevant discipline
    • MS or MBA and professional license in engineering or science discipline preferred
    • 15+ years relevant experience, with a minimum of 10 years of EHS management experience, including:
    • Facility-level EHS technical work in a manufacturing operations environment
    • Corporate-level work as an EHS program leader
    • Strong knowledge of all aspects of EHS management
    • Experience with M&A due diligence
    • Experience aligning strategy and operational execution with executive management
    • Experience with lean manufacturing systems and continuous improvement culture
    • Strategic thinking skills; must be able to think long-term, and be able to prioritize
    • Capable of developing a sense of trust and loyalty among team members at all levels of the organization
    • Be capable of influencing peers, subordinates, superiors, regulators
    • Proven managerial/leadership skills such as work planning, delegating & evaluating
    • Demonstrated collaboration, negotiation, conflict resolution & interpersonal skills
    • Be able to analyze complicated EHS issues and summarize concisely for non-EHS persons
    • Able to develop action plans and bring to a successful conclusion corrective action
    • Must act in a way that never compromises ethics, integrity, or safety
    • Proven mentoring and coaching abilities; demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others. Leading change through influence and collaboration
    • Comfortable making trade-offs in a fast-paced, dynamic, resource-constrained environment
    • Ability to effectively and pragmatically balance EHS and business considerations
    • Ability to work effectively in a lean environment
    • Strong collaborative orientation
    • Strong communication skills
    • Travel up to 30% but flexing higher when needed.
