Want to join something GREAT and make a difference?The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is looking for a Contract Specialist 1 (Facilities Maintenance) to join the DNR Public Works and AE Contracts office.
Responsibilities:
The purpose of this Contract Specialist position is to provide enterprise guidance, production, and execution of contracts for Capital Projects.
This remote position reports to the Public Works Office Contracts Engineer, who reports directly to the Director of Enterprise Services.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelors Degree involving major study in public administration, business administration, business law, commerce, economics, mathematics, statistics, or closely allied field AND One year of experience bidding, awarding, and administering the compliance of Public Works and A/E contracts.
OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experienceALL experience can be gained concurrently.
Knowledge of contract legal requirements, contracts terminology, practices, principles, theory, applications, and State and Federal laws and regulations governing contracts.
Ability to write effectively; represent the Agency in coordination and negotiation with other governmental agencies and private industry; recognize desirable contract terms and provisions; identify areas and incidents of non-compliance with existing contracts.
