Your opportunityWe are currently looking for a Senior Accountant (Remote). In this role, you'll lead monthly close activities, optimize workflows, and automate processes. You'll also oversee day-to-day accounting operations, contribute to annual audits, and enhance subsidiary accounting. This role will report to the Accounting Manager.
What You Will Do
Monthly Close
Build-out workflows and procedures as the company scales, participate in selection of accounting close software, and identify opportunities to automate manual processes.
Posts monthly journal entries and keeps updated reconciliations for each balance sheet account through the close management software.
Identifies ways to continuously improve the monthly accounting close process through technology and process enhancements.
Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting.
Annual Audit
Assists the Accounting Manager with the annual audit fieldwork.
Coordinates with external auditors to ensure successful engagement and on-time delivery of audited financial statements.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements and reports, in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
Miscellaneous
Improve accounting operations of newly acquired subsidiaries including build-out of accounts receivable invoicing processes and transitioning of accounting work.
Assist in the preparation of tax filings, including federal and state income tax returns.
Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes; provide analysis of actual results versus budget.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment for complex transactions.
What Will Make You Successful Here
Bachelor's degree in accounting; active CPA
5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a big 4 firm.
Experience with NetSuite strongly preferred.
Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience working in a multi-entity company is a plus.
Experience implementing accounting software is a plus.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Entrepreneurial spirit, a sense of ownership and comfortable operating in ambiguity
