    About the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities:
    The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) is a trauma informed care agency.

    We offer a state-wide system of supportive services that focus on ensuring health and safety, supporting access to community participation and increasing opportunities for meaningful employment.

    Both Centers are in the Northwest region of Ohio.

    Northwest Ohio Developmental Center (NODC) is an all adult facility located in Toledo and Tiffin Developmental Center (TDC) is a youth and adult facility, with the focus of serving youth, located in Tiffin.


    Either facility can be considered the home office - it is expected to spend time at each facility each week.

    Specialty in family medicine is preferred.

    What you will do as the Medical Director for NODC and TDC:


    • Oversee/evaluate/improve the medical operations at each Developmental Center to ensure all individuals are receiving quality medical care and services by establishing/implementing policies & procedures consistent with regulations for Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities.
    • Provide primary care to the individuals at each facility by diagnosing, prescribing testing/treatment/medication and making referrals to other medical providers/specialists.
    • Advise inter-disciplinary team members on medical issues and make recommendations to benefit the overall health of individuals and ensure health precautions are in place to prevent the spread of contagious diseases.
    • Assess need for medical-related training & deliver training as needed.
    • Participate in continuous education/training to remain current in medical knowledge/practices.
    • Oversee the work of nurse practitioners and other medical professionals
