    Description


    The Advancement team identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards individuals, as well as foundation, government and corporate partners who invest in the Society to drive impact through science, technology, education, exploration, and storytelling.

    The team collaborates across the Society to build transformative and impact-driven strategic partnerships.

    The team also produces global events that deepen connections and leverage the Society's power to convene, and directs robust annual, major and planned giving programs empowering the Society with a broad base of public support.


    The Manager, Corporate Partnerships is a key member of the Institutional Partnerships Team and is responsible for cultivating, securing and managing corporate philanthropic partnerships to advance the Society's priorities and goals.

    This Manager will have a strategic focus on corporate foundations and on building a Washington, DC-based corporate partnerships portfolio, develop and implement strategies to secure new support for the Society and shape partnerships for long-term growth.

    In addition, this position will support the Society's efforts to build seven and eight figure corporate partnerships that align with the National Geographic Society's strategic plan, NGNext, and its brand goals.

    Reporting to the Sr.

    Director, Corporate Partnerships and located at the Society's Base Camp in Washington, DC, the Manager will collaborate across the Advancement, Communications and Programs teams to implement successful corporate partnerships activities.

    The Manager will be a creative, solutions-oriented professional with demonstrated experience in fundraising to support a non-profit mission, strong communication skills, and a track record of implementing successful corporate partnerships to meet mutual business objectives.

    Responsibilities


    Include:
    Lead a dedicated corporate foundation engagement strategy, including monitoring industry trends, managing a private sector partner engagement plan, and working across Programs teams on proposal development in alignment with the Society's priorities outlined in NGNext (25%)
    Lead outreach and cultivation of a new select set of corporate partners as supported by the Sr. Director of Corporate Partnerships. (25%)
    Support the VP and team in new corporate partnership development at all levels, including creating compelling pitch decks, case studies, proposals, and other partnership sales materials (25%)
    Serve as the primary relationship manager of a portfolio of partners in assigned categories, managing accounts towards deeper engagement & strategic growth (20%)
    Serve as a thought partner in developing creative and compelling partnership strategies across the Corporate team to engage, retain and grow the Society's corporate partners (5%)
    What You'll Bring
    Educational Background
    Minimum Years of Experience
    5+ years of experience in corporate partnerships, fundraising, corporate social impact, communications, business development or related fields.
    Necessary Knowledge and Skills
    Demonstrated success in securing and implementing corporate partnerships in a non-profit setting
    Understanding of current trends in corporate philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, DEI and communications
    Strong communication, proposal writing and presentation skills with a high degree of confidence in interacting with senior executives
    Strong experience in developing compelling pitch decks and engagement materials
    Desired Qualifications
    A creative, solutions-oriented approach to building mutually beneficial partnerships
    Ability to be flexible and adaptable to collaborate effectively across multiple departments
    Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
    Excellent attention to detail and follow through as demonstrated through effective project management experience
    Experience fundraising for science, education, environmental conservation or cultural/historic preservation preferred

    Supervision
    Salary Information
    National Geographic Society offers a competitive and holistic total rewards package. Our compensation structure and transparent pay philosophy are based on industry-specific market data for similar sized nonprofit organizations.
    The salary range for this position is $92,000 - $107,000.

    Pay offered to candidates will be based on several factors including but not limited to industry-based or other relevant work experience, education, skills, certifications, and training.

    Job Designation

    Hybrid - At the Society, we believe in the advantages of coming together to build community, mentor and learn from colleagues, and connect more deeply with our mission.

    As a result, the majority of our staff are Hybrid.

    Our Hybrid category requires that staff work at Base Camp two days each week:
    every Tuesday and Wednesday. Hybrid staff are also always welcome to come in additional days each week if they prefer.
