    Description

    As a Senior Technical Sound Designer at DFAD you will be architecting high-quality, emotionally resonant sound-systems for beloved video game projects. With 10+ years of experience in game development and mastery of Wwise, Unity, UE5 (MetaSound, Blueprints, C++, C#) you are the ideal candidate we seek.

    You will work on first-person perspective games, working with various titles including AR and VR, with all departments as well as developers. Exceptional communication skills and project management abilities, paired with a passion for problem-solving and a love for sound design, are essential to excel in this role.     Responsibilities:

    • Setting up repositories for new projects (Perforce, Git)
    • Integrating middlewares into various game engines (UE, Unity)
    • Implementing audio (Wwise, MetaSound, UE Blueprints, C++, C#).
    • Integrating AI tools (text-to-speech, speech-to-speech, VOIP)
    • Designing complex audio systems and events
    • Supporting efficient cross-functional development and assisting with consistent implementation strategy through briefs and Script Hooks for teammates
    • Participating in QC reviews and providing/receiving feedback
    • Optimizing audio, perform audio playtests, performance profiling, fixing bugs
    • Building internal audio tools for efficiency
    • Strong abilities with game audio concepts, workflows, and technical sound design best practices
    • Key stakeholder in designing and managing sound prioritization

    Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of experience in game development with credits in MMO's or FPS titles
    • Experience with acoustics, Ambisonic / Spatial Audio
    • Experience with HDR
    • Experience with VOIP Integration
    • Extreme proficiency in audio integration
    • Ability to build audio systems
    • C++ programming, scripting
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

    Pluses:

    • Passion for modular synths
    • Technical curiosity and creativity
    • Experience in AAA title game development
    • AR/VR/XR development experience
    • Sound design skills in Logic, Pro Tools, or similar DAW
    • Ability to adapt in fast-paced and constantly evolving environment
    • Background in music, acoustics, and studio audio equipment (a plus)
    • Knowledge of scripting languages (JavaScript, Lua, Python, etc.)
    • Understanding of CPU and memory optimization for games
    • Expertise in spatialized audio and acoustics
    • Bachelor's degree in music, audio, or related field (a plus)
    • Professional audio training (a plus)

    $92,000/yr - $150,000/yr
