    The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

    United Parcel Service (UPS) is one of Liberty Mutual's oldest and largest customers. UPS operations are expansive, and they maintain one of the largest insurance/risk management programs in the world. Liberty Mutual is UPS's primary strategic partner with several insurance placements and services purchased across Global Risk Soutions (GRS) segments.

    This role reports to the Executive Vice President (EVP) of Majors Casualty and is responsible for directly leading a team of 12 people who exclusively serve UPS in a dedicated capacity across Underwriting, Account Management, and Client Service. In addition to the immediate team, this role is responsible for the dedicated service delivered by 200+ WC/Casualty Claims Specialist, 75 Risk Control professionals, and 2 Actuarial resources.

    This role leads relationship management and negotiation activities with UPS representing Liberty Mutual as the executive customer contact. Lead overall coordination across the enterprise to navigate issues/activities with supporting business groups and departments' management across GRS (Claims, Loss Prevention, Underwriting, Account Services, Actuarial, Legal, etc.). Steer and lead large-scale, alternative transactions that meet customer needs while providing appropriate returns. Manage and maintain executive level relationships internally to ensure consistent consciousness of the account over time. Responsible for the hiring, developing and directing of staff in assigned areas.

    Qualifications:
    • Leads all UPS dedicated unit operations (UW, Account Management, Client Service) with responsibility for profit, growth and retention of the account.
    • Works closely with Claims and Risk Control dedicated teams to ensure consistent protocols, delivery of best-in-class products and world-class service.
    • Coordinates across the enterprise to ensure all placements are appropriately managed and facilitate communication with UPS. Leveraging internal network to ensure full breadth of Liberty Mutual capabilities are brought to bear to meet new and emerging risks and account needs.
    • Directs staff in the development and management of service and product deployment. Sets performance goals and objectives, trains and coaches to meet objectives.
    • As one of the four leaders of Majors Casualty, this role plays an active leadership role for Majors strategic planning. Coordinates the development of the annual business plan for the account team.
    • Works directly with key client contacts in a consultative and advisory manner to address issues impacting their loss experience and provide solutions to minimize risk and loss. Provides analytical insights and strategically communicates in support of customers' objectives.
    • Supports key UPS contacts in managing the internal messaging within UPS around account performance.
    • Develops and maintains executive-level contacts with the client and represents Major Accounts on all key activities/issues.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, plus a minimum of 12 years insurance and/or management experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to organize, lead and get work done through others.
    • Highly-effective oral and written communication skills, including interviewing, training, presentation, persuasion and negotiation skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships that deliver results.
    • Positive, solution-oriented mindset that builds morale in demanding environments.
    • In-depth knowledge of company's services, products and marketing techniques, insurance contracts, rating, and management and human resources theory and practices.
