We are seeking an experienced administrative profession for a highly visible role within our prestigious
Post Anesthesia Care Units (PACU) at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) as a
Unit Coordinator.
The
PACU at MGH is comprised of 6 individual critical care areas dedicated to the care of adult and pediatric patients preceding and immediately following surgery and/or procedures requiring anesthesia.

As a Unit Coordinator, you will...
- Play a critical role in patient care by serving as the central source of information by communicating with patients, families and medical staff.
- Transcribe medical charts for patients to ensure that the medical treatments and procedures are carried out and order supplies for the unit.
- Acts as the central contact person for the nursing unit; performs transcription, clerical and reception duties; and will become an expert user in _Epic_.
- Work under the direction of the Nurse Manager or designee to coordinate the nonnursing/nonclinical activities essential to the effective functioning of the nursing unit.
- Requires a high degree of accuracy and strong communications skills.

But first, please make sure you have the following:
- High School Diploma or GED; Associate Degree preferred
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and procedures
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers
- Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems
