    Prime Home DDS, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a member of our team, you will work with students who have academic or physical challenges. Your primary objective will be to identify their unique educational needs and facilitate their long-term academic success. The ideal candidate should possess qualities of compassion, creativity, and dedication towards fostering student growth. The Special Education Teacher will assist in leading the Education Services Program by planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the various offerings at Prime Home DDS, Inc.

    Direct Reports: Educational Service Director

    Schedule:

    • 8:00 am to 4:00pm
    • Day shift
    • Monday to Friday

    Please take note of the following requirements:


    Educational and Experience Requirements:

    - Experience working in an education and/or community-based program for individuals with developmental disabilities.

    - Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.

    - Valid teaching certification in Special Education.


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    - Ability to effectively assess an individual's educational program and plan special interventions for medical, nutritional, or therapeutic needs as necessary.

    - Proficiency in oral and written communication to coordinate education services, plan and allocate resources, supervise staff, provide training, prepare and monitor budgets, and utilize thorough decision-making processes.

    - Ability to formulate, implement, and monitor goals and objectives to meet the students' Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.

    - Utilize normalization principles, least restrictive alternative concepts, Individualized Service Plans (ISPs), basic behavior management, programming, and medication administration monitoring.

    Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Work with the Educational Service Director to assess current and future Education Services' needs.

    2. Provide a range of Education Services training and services for the population served.

    3. Ensure compliance with all County, State, and Federal rules and regulations related to Education Services.

    4. Actively participate in internal and external evaluations and investigations of the programs, including internal systems review and CPS/APS Abuse/Neglect investigations.

    5. Take an active role in student intake to gain detailed knowledge of each person's unique needs.

    6. Encourage student involvement in individual program planning and the planning and monitoring of Education Services.

    7. Ensure the human and legal rights of all individuals in service programs are upheld through compliance with all applicable legal mandates.

    8. Ensure all staff are trained in the basic competencies required for their positions and are involved in ongoing training to continually improve and upgrade services.

    9. Coordinate education services effectively to ensure that students' IEP goals and objectives are met in a timely manner.

    10. Monitor the quality of services provided, including client programs, client financial systems, facility issues, safety programs and procedures, and other agency systems.

    11. Work cooperatively with other service providers to ensure quality service delivery for all clients and provide efficient administrative support for managers, supervisors, and education support professionals.

    12. Inform the Educational Service Director of important issues concerning the clients and Education Services operations.
