    Description


    A specialty plastics manufacture is looking for a Business Development Representative with experience in technical sales and marketing of plastics to join their team.

    This is a remote position working any time zone with the requirement of 30%-40% of travel to market and sell products at trade shows, conventions, etc.

    Some of the day-to-day responsibilities but not limited to include:

    Leads in developing and implementing account strategies to meet the customer's long-term needs in a manner consistent with ZSM's objectives and capabilities.

    Plays leading role with assistance from Sales/Marketing management in the development and implementation of customer contracts/supply agreements.

    Maintains a strong working knowledge of ZSM's product lines, markets and technologies and that of the plastic industry as a whole.

    Plays an active role in monitoring the quality of ZSM products/services and in defining how ZSM can enhance its capabilities of meeting the long-term technical/commercial needs of the company's customers.

    Establishes annual sales plan (volume and dollars) for the territory and assigned national accounts and proactively monitors sales results and changing market and economic conditions to ensure that plan is achieved.

    Reports in a prompt, accurate and concise manner significant developments within territory and assigned national accounts via interaction reports in Salesforce.

    Constantly monitors competitive activity and reports significant developments promptly and accurately; Completes annual competitive survey for territory.

    Promptly and accurately reports and investigates customer complaints, takes countermeasures against the complaints, and ensures customer is satisfied with ZSM corrective action.

    Submits administrative reports (timesheets, expense reports) in an accurate and timely manner.

    Report customer related activities every month.

    Travel more than 50% of the time domestically and the occasional international travel.

    Experience working for Japanese company and/or Japanese customers.


    • Experience working from satellite / remote office.
    • Demonstrates comfort and skill in conversing in chemical/polymer terminology and being able to explain how chemical properties relate to product/application performance.
    * 3+ year of experience working with plastic materials on Medical, Pharmaceutical, Life Science, Bio-diagnostics, others who utilizes high performance plastics.


    • Working technical knowledge plastic materials on Medical, Pharmaceutical device/packaging, Life Science, Bio-diagnostics, others who utilizes high performance plastics.
    • Experienced in meeting with prospective customers on solo basis.
    • Experienced in preparing and presenting technical presentations at customers where the audience is technical,
    • Self-starter personality, quick learner, with hunger to learn the business, the customers, and to develop business.
