    Position Summary

    Maryland Nonprofits is in search of a dedicated Member Support Specialist to elevate the membership experience across the organization and its supported programs, including Maryland Association of Resources for Families and Youth, Maryland Latinos Unidos, and Standards for Excellence.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will be a key contact, ensuring members receive exceptional support and value while helping us advance our mission across the state of Maryland and the communities that we serve. The member support specialist will be a key point of contact to connect nonprofits to the Nonprofit Accelerator Program, offering back-office services to nonprofits. The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:


    • Member support and relationship management.


    • Serve as the primary contact for Nonprofit Accelerator inquiries, member inquiries, requests, and concerns.


    • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting member relationships.


    • Ensure timely and successful delivery of member solutions according to member needs.


    • Database management


    • Maintain and update member records in the association's database.


    • Monitor member renewals, follow up on lapses, and work on re-engagement strategies.


    • Answer member inquiries by phone, email, and in person.


    • Resolve member problems and complaints.


    • Provide support for the organization's programs and services.


    • Build relationships with members and promote the organization's mission.


    • Maintain and update member records.


    • Process membership applications and renewals.


    • Coordinate membership events and activities.


    • Assist with fundraising and development activities.

    Onboarding and Training:


    • Facilitate new member onboarding processes.


    • Organize and lead training webinars or sessions, ensuring members understand and utilize available resources.

    Event and Program Support:


    • Assist in organizing member-specific events and programs.


    • Promote member participation and attendance at association events.


    • Support Maryland Nonprofits Annual Conference.

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)


    • 1-2 years of experience in customer service or a related field


    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills


    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team


    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills


    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

    Preferred Qualifications:


    • Experience working with nonprofit organizations


    • Experience with Salesforce (CRM) software


    • Experience with social media


    • Experience with event planning and management


    • Bilingual in English and Spanish
