    Job Description

    High Desert Medical Group is seeking a full time Certified Medical Assistant/Patient Services Associate for our busy Palmdale clinic. This candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of patient satisfaction. They will be assisting in reception area at the front desk, as well as providing direct patient care alongside our nursing and provider team as needed.

    Summary of Duties:
    • Smile and make eye contact when greeting patients and other customers.
    • Demonstrate care, concern, and courtesy when interacting with all internal or external customers.
    • Display a warm and pleasant personality at all times.
    • Handle telephone calls including answering and transferring with proper phone etiquette.
    • Taking messages for the clinic.
    • Register all presenting patients.
    • Verify insurance and eligibility.
    • Collect applicable copays, print and balance cash reports.
    • Assist patients to exam rooms and obtain complete and accurate vital signs.
    • Obtain and document all pertinent information in patient charts.
    • Anticipate, assist, and perform procedures ordered by the provider.
    • Maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
    • Reinforce patient education and participate in patient teaching.
    • Initiate and appropriately participate in Code White, Code Blue, and Code Red within the guidelines of scope of practice.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $39,000.00 and $52,020.80/year, non-exempt; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

    If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

    Requirements
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) required.
    • Current BLS.
    • At least one-year front office experience preferred
    • Ability to handle high phone volume, multi-task, and prioritize while remaining friendly and positive.
    • Attention to detail, reliability, as well as flexibility in daily tasks/duties - can do attitude.
    • Experience with EHR preferred, along with strong computer skills.
    • Spanish bilingual level 1 required;level 2 preferred.
